A ready to grow inoculated ganoderma lucidum (Reishi) blocks:
2.3kg (5lb) supplemented (5% Organic oat groat) 95% oak substrate.
Growing conditions:
- Fruiting stage: 18–25°C
- Light: Indirect light (500–1000 lux) is needed for to initiate fruiting of either antler or conk formations. near a window seal is a good location but make sure it is not in direct sunlight.
-
Humidity: High humidity (85–95%) is crucial during fruiting for both Antler and Conk formations
-
Antler formation: This is easiest way to achieve the 85-95% RH. Just keep the grow bag sealed, and it will act like a mini greenhouse so no additional actions are needed.
- Conk formation: The 85-95% RH can be achieved with a clear plastic bag wrapped around the grow kit, spray the inside of the bag with a spray bottled using bottled water (NOT tap water). Poke hole into the bag to allow for air exchange.

02 exchange:
- Antler formation: Antler formation is the easiest way to grow Reishi mushrooms as you can just keep them in the sealed grow bag bag and harvest when they reach the top or 2 inches high. Antler formations can grow in high Co2 levels.
- Conk formation: To achieve a high air flow keep the inoculated grow kit in a clear plastic bag with holes poked into it and place in a well ventilated area.
- you can either grow the reishi in antler form until your ready to start conk formations or use sterilised scissors to cut the bag open on the side to start growing conks from the start.
-
When are they ready to harvest:
-
Antler formation: Once exposed to indirect light visible primordia should start forming within 5 days, if keeping in antler form they can be harvested once they reach a minimum of 2 inches (5cm). or you can leave them to grow until your diresed length as they are in high co2 conditions they are unable to produce spores and overipen. Fully grown upto 6 weeks.
- Conk formation: If growing in Antler form grow the reshi until they are about 2 inches (5cm) then cut the bag and create big squares on either side to allow Air flow. this should take around 2-3 weeks, Then follow the guide below.
- if growing straight to conk form you should see kidney shaped primordia forming withing 10 days from start of fruiting. From where you slit the bag in a diagonal line with sterilised scissors. Starting a creamy white and fully maturing into a brown reddish colour within a 3-4 weeks
